What were we tasked to do?
To create an Oak Staircase for a London Library
We sat with the client and designed a staircase that would wind up 3 floors, creating a seamless feel, flowing from one floor to another.
The staircase was constructed initially in Steel for the structure, which we then clad in Oak. We used tongue and groove boards with a pre-finished lacquer. As an added touch, we routed in the floor numbers directly into the structure using a CNC machine to be able to see them as you climb the staircase.
Without a doubt, this became the focal point of the Library and gained us an award.
The amazing ‘futuristic designed’ furniture that we manufactured and installed seemed to pale into insignificance by comparison
